Challenge

The studio needed a single dashboard for availability of all client products and own infrastructure. Scaling external services (uptime.com, betterstack) to dozens of domains is expensive and gives no full control over data and UI.

What We Did

• Cron-based scheduler in Edge Functions — each monitor pinged at configurable interval (60 s default).
• Result bucketing: ping_results aggregated via SQL functions get_ping_buckets / get_ping_summary — UI renders historical charts fast even with 5,000+ records.
• Domain module: checks registrar, SSL expiry, NS records, HTTP status code. Highlights warnings (SSL expiring in N days).
• Public status pages linked to projects (LinkPet, DieAlltagsfeen), grouping monitors by category. URL: uptime.handev.org/status/{slug}.
• PostgREST as data layer: automatic REST endpoints, permissions via roles.
• Notifications: email + Telegram/Slack/WhatsApp via Notification Channels.

Result

• 87 endpoints monitored across client projects.
• 6 domains under surveillance.
• 2 public status pages — LinkPet (18 monitors, 2 domains) and DieAlltagsfeen (42 monitors, 3 domains, 4 groups).
• Proactive monitoring: link-pet.ru SSL expiring in 18 days — caught in advance.
• Avg response time across all monitors — 286 ms.
